Merry Advent Everyone!
A few points of note:
As 2008 winds down amidst all of the busy-ness, hopes, fears, regrets, and anticipation/anxiety of the next year, We (Good Night, States) are IMMEASURABLY thankful for everyone who has downloaded our music, put us up for the night, booked us for a show, played us on the radio, blogged about us, and come to hear us play. If you weren’t a part of any of those aforementioned groups, we are still extremely thankful for you.
May your heart be filled with PEACE this holiday season!
Good day, everyone!
We’re playing Club Cafe tomorrow night (Thursday, Nov. 13th)! We’re super excited to play another Pittsburgh show and we’re even more excited to be sharing the stage with Boca Chica & Army of Me. We’ve updated the details for this and other shows, so go to the SHOWS page and check out the updates. And visit the other bands’ websites while you’re at it!
In addition to playing at Club Cafe tomorrow, we will be finishing up writing and recording November’s Internet Single (to be released sometime around Thanksgiving). The following week (11/19-11/22), we will be making a jaunt up the east coast, hitting Brooklyn, Boston, & Philly. If you live in any of those locales, we’d love to see you!
Wow, the sheer amount that we will be accomplishing in the next two weeks just hit me. I think I may have to go sleep it off.
P.S. In case you’ve forgotten, we recently released an internet single, “The Odd and The Even.” You can download it for free (or a price of your choosing) on the MUSIC page!
Greetings Lovely Listener(s),
Today we have reason to celebrate. No, not for getting to dress up in scary outfits so that people can give you sugary treats, it’s because our newest internet single, “The Odd and The Even,” comes out today!
“The Odd and The Even” is the first in a series of three internet singles that will be released to close out the year of 2008! You can expect the next installment around Thanksgiving and the last around Christmas. I guess you could call these last three “The 2008 Holiday Singles.”
If you’re interested in what “The Odd and The Even” looked like to record, you can go here to see the photo album!
You may think that we’d sit and bask in the glory of this celebratory event, but you would be mistaken! We will be celebrating by writing next month’s single. We love to deliver music to your desktop!
All treats and no tricks,
Good Night, States
Hey!
We’ve got some very cool things happening here.
See you soon!
Due to the fact that most people are vacationing this time of year, we have decided to take a vacation, too. We’re taking a 2 month break from our internet releases in order to catch our breath and allow you, the listener, to catch up with all that we’ve released thus far. Don’t despair! We’ll be back at it in October!
There has been some confusion about the nature of the internet singles. Just to clear things up, the reason that we’ve called them “internet singles” is because they are single, distinct songs that are released via “the internet(s).” We currently have no current plans to release the “internet singles” on any form of physical media (cd, vinyl, cassette tape, 8-track, etc.), so download away, or get your friends to burn you a copy if you hate downloads. (Also to clarify, In The Impossible Tension, someday may be released on physical media, but don’t hold your breath).
Our latest full-length album, Short Films on Self-Control has been racking up some good reviews lately. Go here to read some snippets from those reviews.
Three cheers for summer vacation!
Thanks to everyone who came to see us at 91.3 WYEP’s Summer Music Festival! We were honored to play and share the stage with all of the wonderful acts that followed. Here’s some photos of the event. Oh, and The Watson Twins have a new album that came out last Tuesday (June 24th). You should get it not only because it is good, but because they are the nicest people ever!
In other news, We will be releasing our newest internet single, “Sometimes I See You On The Lawn,” this Friday, July 4th, in order to coincide with the great celebration of our nation’s birthday. For those who caught our set at the WYEP music festival, you’ve already heard this song (but you should still get it when it comes out!).
In other other news, here’s a nice album review and show preview that came out last Friday.
All the best to you and yours!
Well, there’s plenty!
