Hello, friends of Good Night, States!
Join us this Saturday evening at Brillobox in Pittsburgh for a great show with our friends The Bloodsugars and Delicious Pastries. Someone with a diabetic sense of humor put both of those bands on the same bill!
But seriously, we think both of these bands are supertalented and we are thrilled to be playing with them.
You can pick up our signed, numbered In The Impossible Tension EP for $10 at the show (remember, we’re only selling them in person, not online). Here’s what a French blog had to say about the new EP: yes, it’s in French. Perhaps you prefer something in English?
Music lovers, we will see you soon.

Oh goodness, look at the press coverage!
Good Night, States’ iPhone/iPod touch story was picked up by Engadget.com, rumored to be one of the top English language blogs in the world. People who have never heard of Good Night, States are now calling us “famous”, while the app’s developers refer to us in the iTunes store as “world renowned musicians Good Night, States.” Other folks on Twitter are just calling us “insane geeks”, which is fine too.
In light of all the comments generated on the Engadget post, we want to encourage all you regular folk out there to watch the videos, read Steve’s latest blog post, and download the app. We created this play-along opportunity for you; yes, even you who have never touched a real synthesizer in your life. Noise.io provides an easy, fun way for people to participate with us - you don’t have to be a tech guru or even a musician to add to the performance at our next show, so don’t be shy. We’ll have our set list posted on The Box, where the input for your device attaches, at the front of the stage. Check it out in advance so you know exactly when your favorite play-along song is coming. Team up with a friend, because two people can play at once!
If an Apple app isn’t your style, wander over to the merch table to check out our new t-shirt design. Good Night, States will give a FREE t-shirt, autographed by world renowned us, to the person identifying the inspiration for the design, hand drawn by artist Nicolena Loshonkol. Hint: it fits our tech geek “scheme” to a tee. Email contest@goodnightstates.com with your guess!

Well hello there, friends of Good Night, States!
We had a wonderful “Tiny Tour” this past weekend; here are the highlights:
- Having our Bridgeport set interrupted several times by an excitable gentleman loudly yelling out questions about our gear: “What YEAR is that GUITAR?” and “EXCUSE ME, Is THAT a SIX STRING BASS?” and “I GOT ONE A THOSE!”
- Meeting the author of our PittsburghDish.com review in person, and hearing some crazy stories about Nirvana before they were huge. Thanks for the drinks, Drew!
- Scoring not one but TWO parking spaces directly in front of the club’s load-in door in New York City’s China Town!
- Causing great amounts of smoke and burning electronics odor to waft forth from the PA speaker at the venue in Philly. While the sound guy scratched his head and the audience wrinkled up their noses, Joe used the break to change a string, Trevor hit the bar, Dan hid behind his drum set and Megan made a really dreadful drawing of the burning speaker in her tiny notebook. Steve, apparently, did not do anything memorable. But then they found a new speaker and we continued our set and afterward we made lots of new friends and drank drinks and lived happily ever after.
- Team Pittsburgh (3/5 of GN,S), grieving the Philly Eagles’ loss via the van’s radio, arrived home just in time to watch the Steelers clench a Super Bowl slot. What a weekend!
P.S. Happy Inauguration Day!
